Mathcounts

SJS Middle School students in grades 6-8 have an exciting opportunity to participate in this year’s school MathCounts Team.   The SJS MathCounts Team meets weekly to prepare for a region-wide competition that will take place in Mid-February. MathCounts is a national middle school mathematics competition held in the United States that provides a fun and challenging environment where students can engage in a variety of math-related activities. These activities include individual and team competitions, written and oral rounds, and problem-solving challenges that cover a wide range of mathematical topics. The program is designed to inspire excellence, confidence, and curiosity in mathematics, helping students develop critical thinking skills and a deeper understanding of math concepts.

We will begin the math training on September 4th and the season will end with a competition at the University of Montana against other Western Montana middle schools. For more information on the MathCount program, go to https://www.mathcounts.org
