We are excited to share the club opportunities available for our middle school students this year! St. Joseph Clubs provide students with the chance to explore their interests, grow in leadership, and build community with their peers outside of their regular classes.
SJS Middle School students in grades 6-8 have an exciting opportunity to participate in this year’s school MathCounts Team. The SJS MathCounts Team meets weekly to prepare for a region-wide competition that will take place in Mid-February. MathCounts is a national middle school mathematics competition held in the United States that provides a fun and challenging environment where students can engage in a variety of math-related activities. These activities include individual and team competitions, written and oral rounds, and problem-solving challenges that cover a wide range of mathematical topics. The program is designed to inspire excellence, confidence, and curiosity in mathematics, helping students develop critical thinking skills and a deeper understanding of math concepts.
We will begin the math training in September and the season will end with a competition at the University of Montana against other Western Montana middle schools. For more information on the MathCount program, go to https://www.mathcounts.org.
